Notification: April 21, 2014- Invalid credentials on email

A small portion of users are getting an “invalid credentials” error when logging into email.  We are currently investigating the cause, but to fix the problem please log into, go to your email manager, and change your email password to be able to access email.  Thank you for your patience.


1:15pm MST:  The email accounts that were affected had old passwords that did not comply with the current minimum password requirements.  Here is a link explaining the requirements.

Scheduled Maintenance: February 25, 2014 – Scheduled email maintenance

Feb. 25th, 2014, beginning at 6:30 EST we will be performing some planned maintenance on the email system.

The impact is expected to be very minimal and only take a few minutes.

Impact to customers is: anyone logged into the OX email system to lose their session and log back in a second time.

Scheduled Maintenance: February 24, 2014 – Open Xchange email is currently unavailable. (Completed)

10:45 pm MST: We are currently performing maintenance on the email system. Our estimated ETA is approximately 12:30 am MST.Users attempting to login during this period may receive the following error messages.
1:13 am MST: The maintenance process is taking longer than expected, but is nearing completion. The majority of customers can now log in to their email accounts. The remainder of accounts still being affected should have access in the next 1-2 hours.
2:00 am MST: Systems maintenance was completed
Error: 503 – Service Temporarily Unavailable
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /ajax/login.

We are currently aware of an issue that is causing the “connection refused” error when accessing OX mailboxes. Our Network Operations Team is aware of the issue and is currently working towards a resolution. We will reach out as soon as more information becomes available.


UPDATE – 11:43 MST: This issue has been resolved.

Service Outage: February 5, 2013 – Email delivery issue

We are aware of an issue that is affecting mail delivery for some of our customers.

A portion of email that is being sent to mailboxes on our platform is being rejected, however there is no need for you to take any action as generally speaking the mail server of the person sending you a message will attempt to deliver that message again.

We understand how important email delivery is for your business and we apologize if this issue is affecting you.  Our network team is fully engaged and working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.


Update: 3:30 MST:  Mail delivery performance is returning to normal levels, however as sending mail servers continue to retry mail that was previously rejected, you may still see mail delivery as delayed until mail from earlier in the day catches up.  Our team continues to monitor performance closely and of course, thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve this.

Some customers are currently experiencing irregular (short time-out) issues when using the Open-Xchange email (web mail) system. This issue is being investigated and we will post further updates as information becomes available.

11:00 am MST:  This issue has resurfaced and is being investigated.  You can check the status of the issue here.

We are currently experiencing service interruptions to some websites and email boxes. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the disruption. We have traced the root cause to our domain provider Tucows. You can check the status of the issue here.

Service Outage: November 20, 2013 – Email service interruption.

We have received some reports of bounced and undelivered emails sent through our Hmail system. We are working to restore full service. Rest assured, all email will be delivered once this is resolved, including those that may have been reported as a bounced message.  We appreciate your patience.

Service Outage: November 15, 2013 – Email Service Interruption

Some customers are currently experiencing problems sending, or receiving email and in some cases are getting an error stating that the email server is down. We are still investigating information with regard to this issue and have restarted one of the servers.  At this time there is no ETA. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Service Outage: October 25, 2013 – Delayed Email Sending

We are starting to receive reports from some customers that sent emails are not being delivered to the recipient.  We have investigated and fixed the issue.

Unfortunately, many emails were queued during this time, and we expect up to 12 hour delays for those messages to be delivered.  Any new messages will be sent immediately, and we expect no email to be lost during this time.
