Service Outage: October 25, 2013 – Delayed Email Sending

We are starting to receive reports from some customers that sent emails are not being delivered to the recipient.  We have investigated and fixed the issue.

Unfortunately, many emails were queued during this time, and we expect up to 12 hour delays for those messages to be delivered.  Any new messages will be sent immediately, and we expect no email to be lost during this time.

We are currently experiencing issues with emails being sent from Zimbra. Our email administrators have been notified about the issue and are currently working to resolve problems with our outgoing mail servers. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

This error appears to be limited to the Zimbra web client. If you configure Outlook or another email client then you should be able to send your email.

We recently experienced issues with our SPAM-filtering solution that has resulted in mail disruptions for some of our customers. As an online service provide we know firsthand how important email is to business, and we sincerely apologize for any delays you may be experiencing.

Fortunately, we were able to quickly remedy issues related to sending email; and your outbound emails should be going out as normal.

Some customers may still experience sporadic delays related to inbound emails over the next week or so. We are working to resolve this issue and will provide you with regular updates.

Service Outage: September 30, 2013 – Hmail throwing server errors/slowness

Some users are reporting server errors when attempting to send or navigate in their Hmail box.  Others are reporting ongoing slowness in receiving.  This has been reported to our Hmail administrators who are working on finding a solution as quickly as possible.

The new Hmail hardware and software is in place.  While there will be ongoing adjustment of the settings the email slowness has been fixed and sending has resumed.

Service Outage: September 26, 2013 – First part of Hmail solution implemented

The first half of our fix for Hmail has been implemented.  We now have new outgoing spam filters in place and have redirected our outgoing mail to other ports so that emails can be sent without being caught by blacklists. We are continuing to configure the new system to reduce the amount of incoming spam being received.  We appreciate your continued patience.

Notification: September 24, 2013 – Hmail sending and receiving problems reported (update)

We are continuing to see some problems with Hmail sending and delivery.  We are working on identifying and implementing a solution for the problem.  As of yesterday afternoon some email was starting to be delivered but there may be additional delays and bounces until a solution is found.  We understand the importance of email and are working to get this corrected as soon as possible.

We are investigating reports that some people are having problems sending or receiving email. Our email admins are looking into the problem and hope to get the functionality restored as quickly as possible.

We have identified an issue with one of our email severs which is affecting the ability to log in and/or send emails.  There is currently no ETA, but our email administrators are working to get this resolved as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing.

Notification: August 29, 2013 – Hmail passwords reset (resolved)

A fix has been implemented for the Hmail password problem.  The issue was caused by a migration script during maintenance overnight.  The problem is being fixed and all password that were inadvertantly are being reset to what they were yesterday.    The resets may take sever hours.  If you still can’t log into email or had been able to log in after changing your password and no longer can you can reset your password using the following instructions:

1. Log into your website account at Homestead.com

2. Click on “Email” on the left

3. Click on “Manage my email account” in the middle of the page

4. If you have more than one domain on your account choose the domain you want to work with from the dropdown

5. Click the pencil icon to the right of the box you wish to edit

6. Enter the password you want to use in the password and confirm password boxes (please note all passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include a capital and lower case letter)

7. Save

Do this for each box you can’t log into.

We sincerely apolgize for the trouble this caused and have taken steps so that it won’t occur again.
